The Chipsen T110 toroidal transformer is a fully customizable low-noise power transformer built on a continuously wound CRGO (cold-rolled grain-oriented) silicon steel toroidal core with 100% copper windings. Its closed magnetic circuit keeps stray magnetic field, audible hum and EMI far below those of a comparable EI laminated transformer, making it the preferred choice for Hi-Fi audio amplifiers, medical and laboratory instruments, industrial control cabinets, LED lighting, UPS and isolation power supplies.

Q1: Why choose a toroidal transformer instead of an EI transformer for an audio amplifier?
A toroidal core has a continuous closed magnetic path, so it produces much lower stray magnetic field, lower audible hum and lower EMI, while offering higher efficiency and a smaller, lighter body at the same VA rating.
Q2: Can the T110 be made to my own voltage and VA rating?

Q3: Are the windings full copper?
Yes. We use 100% enameled copper wire; CCA (copper-clad aluminum) is not used unless the customer specifically requires it.
