Control circuits often use contactors and relays that require an instantaneous surge of current (inrush) to pull in the armature. The EI96 core is designed with a specific magnetic margin that prevents it from reaching saturation during these brief surges. By using high-grade silicon steel with a high saturation flux density, the transformer can deliver up to 8-10 times its rated current for several milliseconds without a significant voltage drop, ensuring that all inductive loads in the control cabinet engage reliably every time.
Industrial grids are often plagued by high-frequency noise and spikes caused by heavy motors or VFDs (Variable Frequency Drives). The EI96 acts as a natural Low-Pass Filter. Because it is a magnetic induction device, high-frequency transients are dissipated as heat in the core rather than being passed to the secondary circuit. Furthermore, the galvanic isolation breaks ground loops, preventing common-mode noise from interfering with delicate digital signals in a PLC, thereby significantly reducing system errors and downtime.
