The EI114 control transformer is a single phase, low frequency isolation transformer built on an EI114 laminated silicon steel core, designed to supply the control circuits of industrial machinery. It steps a 230V AC mains input down to safe low voltage control levels and provides galvanic isolation between the mains side and the control side, which protects operators, contactors, relays, PLCs and indicator circuits from line disturbances.
The unit shown is built with a 230V 50/60Hz primary (RED-RED) and two independent secondary groups: 12.0V x 2 rated at 1.0A (YELL-BLK-YELL) and 24.0V x 2 rated at 8.0A (BLU-BLK-BLU). Each secondary group has a centre tap, so it can be wired for the nominal voltage, for a doubled voltage in series, or for a higher current in parallel. This flexible winding arrangement lets one transformer feed several control rails at once instead of using two separate units.
Construction is open frame with a bolt-on mounting bracket and colour-coded flying leads, which makes installation inside a control cabinet straightforward. The core is stacked from cold-rolled silicon steel laminations, the windings use full copper enamelled wire, and the whole assembly is varnish impregnated to lower audible hum and resist humidity. The design is manufactured under UL file E332338 and produced in our own factory under an ISO 9001 quality system.
